With the TIS 2.8 (online since february 8th, 2016) and TIS 2.8.1 (online since march 15th, 2016) you get new functions regarding Dynamic Traffic Information in the Logistics products. While Traffic Patterns cover the historical situation during the day and the week, Dynamic Traffic Information considers the live road conditions. Real time changes in estimated travel times and the calculation of alternative routes are enabled.

Highlights of the new 1.22 Version:
PTV xServer: With the upcoming Europe City Map 2016.2 we will introduce a new Feature Layer Truck Waiting times. This first version will include the waiting times at toll booths. As soon as the Feature layer is available you can use it for predictive routing and display the waiting times in the map.
PTV xRoute Server: With the new xRoute 1.22, the Belgium Toll valid from 01.04.2016 can be calculated respecting the three different toll regions. The NGA emission factors for Australia are updated to the 2015 version. There is a new way for exception path input using an intersecting line.
PTV xMapMatch Server: Improved global matching by when driving with low speed, comming from off-road or when the GPS tracks ends.
At this point we would like to inform you of our Webinar taking place March, 3th 2016 where we will demonstrate the new features of PTV xServer 1.22.
The release of the PTV Europe City Map Premium 2016.1T on the LDS will replace the PTV Europe City Map Premium 2015.1T for creating the Incident Feature Layer. This map update will be performed on Monday, 8th of February 2016 not on the 5th like announced before. Then the LDSupdater will supply the Feature Layer into the products automatically but with the update there is something to take care of:
The new Feature Layer that are created by the PTV Europe City Map Premium 2016.1T will get a new Layer ID. The old Feature Layer, created by the PTV Europe City Map Premium 2015.1T, will be discontinued.
PTV Content Update Service earlier than 220.127.116.11 will still copy this old Feature Layer. To avoid the copying and to delete the old Feature Layer, the PTV Content Updates Service database and the dynamic folder (standard name: contentFolder) has to be deleted. This will be done automatically at every restart with the new PTV Content Update Service 18.104.22.168 or higher. For all the older Content Update Service versions, this has to be done manually.
Assuming you have a compact trading area and you like to plan day trips for your vehicles you can benefit of the symbiosis of PTV xTerritory and PTV xTour Server. Use PTV xTerritory Server to plan territories based on customer addresses and optimize the trips with PTV xTour Server.
In our sample there is one depot located in Karlsruhe and the orders located in a compact trading area around. At the depot there are 5 vehicles available for one day.
First use PTV xTerritory Server to plan 5 territories, one territory for each vehicle. Input data is the amount of territories to plan and the locations of all customers or orders for one day.
To keep the sample simple, all locations have an activity value of 1 and the position of the depot is not taken into account. PTV xTerritory Server plans contiguous territories which are balanced on the amount of locations and their activities.

Second step is the trip planning to get a day trip for each of the 5 vehicles with PTV xTour Server.
We use PTV xTour Server to optimize the sequence of customer or order locations. Input data is the vehicles and the customer or order locations assigned to the particular territory of the vehicle. As a result we get the optimized day trip and an impression of the tour duration for these trips.
To keep the sample simple the tours are planned as open trips without taking the depot into account. Optimization goal for trip planning is the optimal sequence.
