we proudly present our PTV xServer 2.1.0 release with seven services in total. In addition to the well-known geographic services xMap, xLocate and xRoute with significant further progress, we offer the brand-new logistics services xDima, xCluster, xTour and xLoad.
For on-premise solutions you have two possibilities to pick up our “Christmas present” at:
The corresponding geocoding data for on-premise solutions is on request as it is not included in the map (for running xLocate). On the other hand this data is installed for cloud solutions.
the test system on xServer internet has PTV Europe City Map 2017.1 (HERE) installed and at the moment we still host the geographic services only. All seven services and a productive system will follow.
With the Europe City Map Premium 2016.2H we introduced a new roadtype “Unpaved roads”. Because this roadtype is not known by the old renderer (xMap 1.20.1 and earlier) these roads will be displayed in bright green.
Workaround to change the colour of these roads
You need to edit the profile file. Depending on your used profile it is silkysand.ini, sandbox.ini or gravelpit.ini in your xMap or xServer /conf/ Folder.
Unfortunately the classic Profile is hardcoded and can not be edited manually.
Our new PTV xServer 1.22 release is available NOW!
Highlights of the new 1.22 Version:
PTV xServer: With the upcoming Europe City Map 2016.2 we will introduce a new Feature Layer Truck Waiting times. This first version will include the waiting times at toll booths. As soon as the Feature layer is available you can use it for predictive routing and display the waiting times in the map.
PTV xRoute Server: With the new xRoute 1.22, the Belgium Toll valid from 01.04.2016 can be calculated respecting the three different toll regions. The NGA emission factors for Australia are updated to the 2015 version. There is a new way for exception path input using an intersecting line.
PTV xMapMatch Server: Improved global matching by when driving with low speed, comming from off-road or when the GPS tracks ends.
At this point we would like to inform you of our Webinar taking place March, 3th 2016 where we will demonstrate the new features of PTV xServer 1.22.
The new Feature Layer TruckTrafficPatterns was released recently with the new PTV Europe City Map Premium 2016.1H. Everything you have to know to get started is explained here:
What is it?
The Truck Traffic Patterns are derived from (car) Traffic Patterns, influenced by many other data like height data, truck speed limits or passing restrictions. Route calculation for trucks considering typical traffic situation at a certain week day and a certain time of day can be done with this Feature Layer. To visualize this traffic situation the according route segments are colored. But because of the reason that the focus of truck routes is on major roads the coloring of segments is not realized for lower street levels. Moreover it is important to use either the TruckTrafficPatterns or the (car)TrafficPatterns at the same time!
Furthermore you have to know that TruckTrafficPatterns and TruckSpeedPatterns are the same Feature Layer and that they are used synonymously. TruckSpeedPatterns is used for the theme name and all including files. In every other case the name TruckTrafficPatterns is used.
What do I need to use it?
It is important to know that you have to adapt the vehicle profiles truckfast.xml, truckslow.xml, default.xml and trafficinfoloader.xml to use this Feature Layer. In the Dynamic Routing section you have to deactivate/delete the SpeedMapping because this would falsify the routing times. Furthermore there is a new Feature Layer Theme available, called PTV_TruckSpeedPatterns
License: Each Feature Layer theme must be licensed separately and for each PTV xServer
With the new PTV Europe City Map Premium 2016.1H we are planning to release the new Feature Layer Truck Traffic Patterns!
The Truck Traffic Patterns are derived from (car) Traffic Patterns, influenced by many other data like height data, truck speed limits or passing restrictions. Then, considering of traffic situations in the route calculation will be also available for trucks.
More detailed information about this Feature Layer, e.g. when it is available and how to use it, you will get in this blog and in the manual on time.
