The Truck Traffic Patterns are derived from (car) Traffic Patterns, influenced by many other data like height data, truck speed limits or passing restrictions. Then, considering of traffic situations in the route calculation will be also available for trucks.

How to use Feature Layer PTV Traffic Incidents

PTV_TrafficIncidentsTogether with our PTV xServer Release 1.20, the new Feature Layer “PTV Traffic Incidents” was released. Didn’t try it yet? Here is all you need to know to get started.

What is it?

TI_scale_150Feature Layer add additional routing network and rendering attributes to a map. The Feature Layer PTV Traffic Incidents provides actual traffic information to consider incidents like traffic jams in the route planning. The information is provided as dynamic Feature Layer and can be automatically downloaded from the PTV Layer Delivery Server with the PTV Content Update Service plugin.

What do I need to use it?

  • PTV xServer 1.20
  • Installed and configured PTV Content Update Service
  • License: Each Feature Layer theme must be licensed separately and for each PTV xServer

Where can I get it?

The PTV Content Update Service can be downloaded from the customer area of the PTV Developer Zone (login is required). If you have installed and configured the service properly the traffic information data is automatically downloaded in your defined folder. Please contact your sales representative in order to get the corresponding license keys.

First service release for PTV xServer available:

For PTV xMap, PTV xRoute and PTV xDima there is a first service release available. Update now and get the following improvements:

PTV xMap

  • PTV xMap ServerBugfix: FeatureLayer pixel coordinates refer to top-left not to buttom-left.
  • Bugfix: FeatureLayer consider the profile language.
  • Bugfix: Disabling/Enabling StaticLayer works as intended.

PTV xRoute

  • PTVxRouteServerBugfix: The manoeuver description considers the language for street and junction names.

 PTV xDima

  • PTV_xDima_Server_80x80Bugfix: Exporting matrices to binary files on linux creates files with the correct size.


The updated PTV xServer can be downloaded from the customer area of the PTV Developer Zone.

Dear all,PTV xMap Server

PTV provides some alternative rendering profiles in order to modify the default map design generated by the PTV xMap Server. The following figures exemplarily illustrate what is possible by using the alternative rendering profiles (sandbox.ini or silkysand.ini):

How to configure?

Open the which is located in the conf folder of your PTV xMap Server and complete following line:

  • map.profile=sandbox.ini or
  • map.profile=silkysand.ini

Don’t forget to restart the PTV xMap Server. Please notice that the sandbox.ini file is already available. Using the alternative “silkysand” profile download the file at PTV’s Developer Zone (open section “PTV xMap Server Testtool”).
