Discontinuation of various versions of PTV xServer, add-ons and maps

To ensure a smooth transition, we kindly ask you, to notice the following information. PTV Group will be terminating following products, plugins, maps and more:

  1. All versions of PTV World Map based on AND as of 1st April 2019
  2. PTV BCR Converter versions 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.0.0 as of 1st January 2020
  3. PTV xServer add-ons AJAX Maps versions 3.5.25-3.5.30 as of 1st January 2020
  4. PTV xServer .NET version 1.5 as of 1st January of 2020
  5. All other PTV Map versions 2018 as of 1st January 2020
  6. PTV xServer API version 1.24 and PTV xServer API versions 2.7-2.11 as of 1st April 2020
  7. PTV Content Update Service all versions of API 1 (1.28 and all previous versions) as well as version 2.11 and all previous versions of API 2 as of 1st April 2020

Please notice

  • that the Content Update Service of API 2 (currently version 2.12) is available. This service is also compatible to PTV xServer API 1 and very efficient.
  • The PTV World Map based on AND is replaced by an extracted version of PTV World City Map from TomTom. The contract with the data provider AND was terminated as of 31.03.2019. Therefore, maps based on AND may not be used in licensed PTV products. Consequently, PTV has stopped the processing and supply of PTV maps based on AND.

Discontinuation notice for PTV World Map effective from 1st April 2019:

PTV World Map 2018 Contract was terminated effective from 31.03.2019 with data supplier AND.
It is not permitted to use AND data in PTV products from that time.
Please use the extracted PTV World Map from TomTom instead.

In accordance with PTV Group’s product discontinuation policy, we are providing you notice of this phase-out so that you have adequate time to replace the solutions via updating to the latest software versions available.

PTV Group is committed to providing the highest level of quality and service to you. Based on your requests, we constantly enhance our software and keep integrating new and improved functions and contents. Therefore, we strongly advise you to partake in our maintenance contract, as it integrates extended functions and ensures their systems always remain up-to-date – a basic prerequisite for their day-to-day operations.

To meet the growing requirements, PTV Group, like other software providers, needs to limit the number of software versions available. This way, we can always make sure that our resources stay focused on further improving PTV xServer, PTV xServer add-ons and PTV Maps as the current software solutions create the perfect conditions for your business applications to excel.

Discontinuation of PTV Mapserver 5.13 and PTV Maps 2018

To ensure a smooth transition, we kindly ask you, to notice following information. PTV Group will be discontinuing PTV Maps version 2018 and PTV Mapserver version 5.13 as of 1st January 2020.

From these dates onwards, we will no longer provide updates or support for the versions listed below. Please notice that for PTV Mapserver the discontinuation also includes detailed, extracted and transit maps as well as the corresponding data content, such as traffic patterns, truck attributes, POIs, toll scenarios, and ID mappings.

To assist our customers, PTV Group has already provided the following upgrade paths, where clients can login to update to the latest versions of:

Partial discontinuation notice for PTV xServer add-on “Traffic Info Loader” (TIL)

To ensure a smooth transition, we would like to let you know that PTV Group will partly be discontinuing the add-on product “Traffic Info Loader” as of 31st of December 2019 (details see below).

To support your business application, PTV Group has already realized an extended approach based on the Feature Layer Technology which replaces the Traffic Info Loader. To provide detailed information, please use PTV’s Online documentation as follows: Feature Layer (PTV_TrafficIncidents).

1. New customers / prospects:

As per 31st of December 2019, the PTV xServer add-on module Traffic Info Loader (TIL) will no longer be available to potential customers of PTV xServer. The discontinuation of PTV xServer add-on TIL is due to the fact that a new technology (so called feature layer “PTV_TrafficIncidents”) replaces the deprecated TIL.

2. Existing customers:

For existing customers of PTV xServer, TIL is partially discontinued according to the conditions set out in the following:

1. PTV xServer existing customers with use of TIL on PTV TomTom maps: Complete discontinuation as of 31stof December 2019. Existing customers of PTV xServer will no longer be able to use the TIL service (no support and no maintenance included).

2. PTV xServer existing customers with use of TIL on PTV HERE maps: Within the framework of the existing contracts, PTV will continue to provide TIL services to existing customers of PTV xServer which allows for an unmodified use of TIL until further notice. Please notice that the current TIL version 3.2.3 must be used.

In accordance with PTV Group’s product discontinuation policy, we are providing you notice of this phase-out receiving adequate time to update your application via using the Feature Layer technology.

3. Additional discontinuation notice for PTV xServer add-on TIL effective from 31st of December 2019:

Discontinuation notice for PTV xServer 32-bit version

We would like to let you know that PTV Group will be discontinuing PTV xServer 32-bit version as of 1st August 2019.

From this date onwards, we will no longer provide any updates or support for the 32-bit versions of PTV xServer. Please notice that the last updated 32-bit PTV xServer was released as version 1.26.0.4 at 28th of January 2019.

To assist the clients, PTV Group has already provided the following upgrade paths, where clients can login to update to the 64-bit version of:

PTV Group as other software companies were forced to react because of Oracle’s announcement regarding their licensing policy. For recent Java versions Oracle provides only 64-bit binaries. Therefore, PTV strongly recommends updating to the 64-bit version.

In accordance with PTV Group’s product discontinuation policy, we are providing notice of this phase-out so that you have adequate time to replace the solutions via updating to the 64-bit software version which is already available.

Discontinuation of PTV Mapserver versions 5.11 & 5.12 and PTV maps 2017

Please notice that PTV Group will be discontinuing PTV Maps version 2017 as of 1 January 2019 and PTV Mapserver versions 5.11 & 5.12 as of 1 April 2018.

Please also notice that traffic patterns based on TMC won’t be longer provided by the PTV maps and therefore PTV Group will be discontinuing these data as of 1 September 2018.

From these dates onwards, we will no longer provide updates or support for the versions listed in the detailed overview provided at the end of this blog. Please notice that for PTV Mapserver the discontinuation also includes detailed, extracted and transit maps as well as the corresponding data content, such as traffic patterns, truck attributes, POIs, toll scenarios, and ID mappings.

Please notice that PTV Group will be discontinuing PTV xServer versions 1.22, 2.0-2.6 and PTV xServer add-ons (as described below) as of 1 April 2019 as well as PTV Maps version 2017 as of 1 January 2019.

Please also notice that traffic patterns based on TMC won’t be longer provided by the PTV maps. This kind of data is replaced by the segment-based traffic patterns via the established feature layer technology (PTV Traffic Patterns).
