Up in the clouds

[Edit 02.03.2012] Article concerning PTV xServer-based transport route planning in the cloud now available.

The first cloud-based transport route planner is now available: map&guide internet

Logistics enterprises and forwarding companies can now use map&guide as a “Software as a Service” solution (SaaS) with direct access via any electrical outlet. It saves both energy and resources, and requires no installation and individual maintenance.

Great! But what has this to do with PTV Developer Components? Watch out … an article concerning the technology behind is already short from releasing.

To bridge the time watch the following Microsoft partner video. Frank Felten (VP Product Management Logistics at PTV) talks about the cloud solution with Windows Azure.
