Cutting CO2 emissions in road traffic? eCoMove shows how it is done!
Road transport is one of the biggest sources of air pollution. Therefore, this is an important area with considerable leverage for CO2reduction and climate protection.
That is the reason why the EU Commission promotes projects which tackle this problem. The EU-funded eCoMove project consists of 31 project partners investigating the question of how to reduce travel times in cities and protect the climate by intelligently combining the latest vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure technologies.
Presentation of results at final event in Aix-La-Chapelle
The eCoMove research partners will present their results at the final event which takes place in Aachen (Aix-La-Chapelle) on 20 and 21 November. Demonstrations in vehicles and other devices as well as presentations provide plenty of information for drivers and traffic managers on how to improve journey time and protect the environment.
PTV Group – the intermediary between technology and people
PTV Group is involved in different knowledge areas that are part of the project. Its team of transportation experts uses appropriate standards and languages in order to transmit traffic forecasts, route recommendations and traffic information to signal control systems, traffic centres and vehicles, enabling traffic management and logistics centres to manage traffic in an eco-friendly and efficient way. If you want to learn more about our involvement in the project, visit the final event.
